Vientiane: revisited

Laos: Jewel of the Mekong

Vientiane

First day. May 20, 2010 -- Azrul Birthday

We arrived at Vientiane at 4.30pm Laos time. the weather is very hot. this time is not like the first time we were here.

Mekong riverside is still under construction.

We took a taxi to the city center, area Fa ngum Road,Ban Watchan.
Looking for a guest house with a reasonable price.

Decided to stay at Youth Inn. Just 5 minutes walking distance to the riverside. and most important near to Nazim restaurant. other than Nazim, Fathimah restaurant and Ali restaurant also offer Halal food.
but other place is not strategic as Nazim's.

Me: Walking along the Mekong River

Delicious seafood with a special sauce and special smell. Yummm yummm

Variety of ethic purse...handmade.
Compare to Luang Prabang. here is much expensive.
Here about 25 000kip per perse but you can get three for 50 000 kip.

If you buy...
Nature pay...
creative. they paint a variety of Buddha picture on the tortoise shell.

Cute puppy for show...
Oppps ni dah samak ke nih?

Budget of the day:
Taxi from Wattey International Airport to city center = 6 usd (fixed price).
Dinner = 27 000 Kip
Hostel = 80 000Kip
Purse = 25 000Kip

Second Day

8.00 in the morning. took a tuk-tuk to the local bus station. which is near to Talat Sao, morning market. take a local bus to Vang -Vieng.

Ticket from Vientiane to Vang Vieng ranges from 30 000kip to 50 000kip depending on what type of bus you want to choose.

Our guesthouse offer 45 000kip for minivan. and the minivan will stop at a proper RNR.
but we want something advanture, so take a local bus. which is 30 000kip + tuk-tuk 15 000kip and the RNR is amazing.

Vientiane to Vang Vieng is about 167km. it's takes 4 hours.
